Which “operating system” leads you?

The challenge of operating in “automatic” mode.

We all have an “operating system”—a standard way of responding to circumstances, situations, and even other people.

From a very early age, we are shaped by our lived experiences to respond to these things in specific ways, forming the basis of our self-identity and attitudes. Even as children, we can perceive the negative messages in our world, and, as Phillips (1987, p. 5) suggests, we "go about forming the intricate maze of knowledge and values" that can inform how we develop mechanisms to respond to the negativity in our world.

Often, this outdated operating system results in automated responses that protected us when we were young but may no longer serve us as adults. Yet, how do we identify what needs to be “re-programmed?”

How I learned to be calmer, happier, and fully present.

I’m a certified professional coach, not a counselor or therapist, yet through my personal experiences, I have learned how much of my perception of myself and my engagement with the world was shaped by the “programming” of my operating system and served to limit me in ways I hadn’t considered.

In recent years, I’ve been dismantling that old operating system and replacing it with a new operating system that better serves me for my personal and professional success.

I’ve made a lot of progress, yet it was the mental fitness program for coaches that I engaged in last fall that brought everything together for me and gave me the tools I needed to become more fully myself and experience higher levels of performance and well-being.

The program, rooted in the research and concepts of Shirzad Chamine’s Positive Intelligence, helped me to overcome long-standing mental models that created ongoing stress and prevented me from being as positive and fully present in life as I thought I was.

What you get with my PQ cohort program.

  • New tools for your personal and professional toolbox. You’ll learn a framework to strengthen your mental muscles (neural pathways) in ways that encourage positivity and result in personal and professional flourishing.

  • Free Positive Intelligence Audiobook.  You can listen to the New York Times bestseller Positive Intelligence by Shirzad Chamine at your leisure within the companion app.

  • A companion and supportive app. A user-friendly app to support your daily mental fitness through a collection of exercises, coaching challenges, weekly video sessions, and a journal for you to log your progress.

  • 3 hours of group coaching. Each week, you can choose to participate in an optional 30-minute live coaching call with me and your cohort to help you integrate and reinforce your self-learning.

  • Unlimited text and email support from me. For the program duration, you will receive ongoing individual support and guidance via text or email.
